Alice Capsey Omitted from T20Is as England Name South Africa Tour Squad
England have named their squads for the upcoming tour of South Africa, with Alice Capsey the notable omission from the T20I squad.
The 18-year-old all-rounder has been in impressive form for England in recent months, but she has been left out of the squad for the three-match T20I series against South Africa.
Capsey has played 11 T20Is for England, scoring 177 runs at an average of 25.29 and taking five wickets at an average of 20.20. She was part of the England team that won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this year.
Capsey's omission from the T20I squad is likely due to the return of Nat Sciver-Brunt, who has been out of action since July with a back injury. Sciver-Brunt is a key player for England, and her return will boost their chances of success in the T20I series against South Africa.
Despite Capsey's omission, England have a strong squad for the tour of South Africa. The squad includes several experienced players, such as Heather Knight, Tammy Beaumont, and Katherine Brunt, as well as some exciting young players, such as Freya Kemp and Lauren Bell.
England will play three T20Is against South Africa in Paarl on January 27, 29, and 31. They will then play three ODIs in Kimberley on February 3, 5, and 7.
