Uttarakhand Pravasi Diwas: 'Essence of Devbhoomi should remain unchanged', says CM Dhami
Devotees also planted more than 12,000 saplings in the ashram's premises

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the essence of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand should remain unchanged and it is the responsibility of those living in the state to preserve its environment. On the occasion of Uttarakhand Pravasi Diwas, Dhami said that the day is dedicated to the people of Uttarakhand who live outside the state and they should make efforts to promote the culture and traditions of Uttarakhand wherever they live.
This year’s Pravasi Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Dayanand Ashram in Dehradun. Dhami took part in a tree plantation drive at the ashram and inaugurated a blood donation camp and health check-up camp. He also interacted with members of the Uttarakhand diaspora and discussed various issues related to the state.
During his address, Dhami said that Uttarakhand is a beautiful state with a rich culture and tradition. He said that it is the responsibility of all those who live in the state to preserve its environment and promote its cultural heritage.
He appealed to the people of Uttarakhand to plant more trees and to conserve water. He also urged them to use traditional methods of farming and to promote organic farming.
Dhami said that the state government is committed to the development of Uttarakhand and is working to create more job opportunities for the youth. He said that the government is also working to improve the infrastructure of the state and to make it more accessible to tourists.
