Utes Set New Single-Game Record for 3-Pointers Made
The Utah Runnin' Utes put on a shooting clinic on Wednesday night, hitting a program-tying 19 3-pointers in a 112-53 rout of visiting Central Arkansas. The Utes, who improved to 10-3 on the season, made 19 of 38 attempts from beyond the arc, tying the mark set by the 2020-21 team against Idaho State.
Utah was led by senior guard Gabe Madsen, who hit a career-high 7 3-pointers and finished with 27 points. Madsen was 7-of-12 from the field and also had 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Five other Utes hit at least two 3-pointers, including Rolando Hoffmann, who hit 4 of 6 from beyond the arc and finished with 16 points. Branden Carlson added 15 points, while Jaxon Robinson and David Jenkins Jr. each scored 10.
The Utes hit their first six 3-pointers of the game and never looked back. They led by 20 points at halftime and extended their lead to as many as 59 points in the second half.
Central Arkansas was led by Eddy Kayouloud, who scored 14 points. The Bears shot just 29.8% from the field and were outrebounded by Utah 51-26.
The Utes will return to action on Saturday when they host Portland State.
