Memphis Faces Gusty Winds, Heavy Rain as Cold Front Moves In
Residents Advised to Take Precautions
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A cold front moving into the Memphis area is expected to bring gusty winds and heavy rain Thursday night and into Friday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Shelby County from 10 p.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph, and the weather service warns that trees could be uprooted and power lines could be downed.
The weather service has also issued a flash flood watch for Shelby County from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon. The watch means that conditions are favorable for flooding, and residents should be prepared to take action if flooding occurs.
