Los Angeles Rams roster update: Demarcus Robinson released
Robinson lasted nine games into the season with the Rams
The Los Angeles Rams released wide receiver Demarcus Robinson on Tuesday, the team announced.
Robinson, 28, signed a one-year deal with the Rams this offseason after spending the previous four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
He caught 12 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown in nine games this season.
The Rams are now down to six wide receivers on their roster, including Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson, Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, Brandon Powell, and Ben Skowronek.
Robinson's release comes as a bit of a surprise, as he had been a relatively productive player for the Rams this season. He was averaging 19.9 yards per reception, which was second on the team behind Kupp.
However, Robinson had also been dealing with a groin injury, which may have played a role in his release.
The Rams will now have to decide whether to add another wide receiver to their roster. They could also choose to promote one of their practice squad receivers, such as Lance McCutcheon or Jacob Harris.
Robinson's release is the latest in a series of moves the Rams have made to their roster this season. The team has also released running back Darrell Henderson and cornerback Troy Hill.
