Canucks’ Forbort out week-to-week, Joshua unlikely to play Thursday vs. Kings
Canucks’ defenseman out week-to-week
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Travis Forbort will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, the team announced Tuesday.
Forbort suffered the injury in the Canucks’ 4-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. He played 14:29 in the game before leaving in the third period.
The Canucks recalled defenseman Jack Rathbone from the American Hockey League’s Abbotsford Canucks to take Forbort’s place on the roster.
Joshua unlikely to play Thursday
Canucks forward Kole Joshua is unlikely to play Thursday against the Los Angeles Kings, coach Bruce Boudreau said Tuesday.
Joshua suffered an upper-body injury in the Canucks’ 5-2 loss to the Calgary Flames on Saturday. He did not play in Sunday’s game against the Oilers.
Boudreau said Joshua is day-to-day but is not expected to be ready to play Thursday.
Canucks’ injury woes continue
Forbort and Joshua’s injuries add to the Canucks’ growing list of walking wounded.
Other Canucks currently injured include:
- Elias Pettersson (upper-body)
- Quinn Hughes (upper-body)
- Brock Boeser (upper-body)
- Tyler Myers (lower-body)
The Canucks have been hit hard by injuries this season, but they have managed to stay afloat in the Western Conference playoff race.
The Canucks are currently third in the Pacific Division with a record of 13-11-3.
