Zac Taylor on two-point try: 'We came here to win'
Bengals head coach explains decision to go for two points late in loss to Steelers
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor explained his decision to go for a two-point conversion late in the team's 23-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
With the Bengals trailing by three points with just over two minutes remaining, Taylor elected to go for the two-point conversion rather than kick the extra point and tie the game. The Bengals were unsuccessful on the conversion attempt, and the Steelers went on to win the game.
Taylor said after the game that he made the decision to go for two because he felt like the Bengals needed to be aggressive in order to win the game.
"We came here to win," Taylor said. "We felt like we had a good play called, and we just didn't execute it."
The Bengals' decision to go for two was a controversial one, with many fans and analysts questioning the call. However, Taylor said that he stands by his decision.
"I'm not going to second-guess myself," Taylor said. "I made the decision that I thought was best for the team, and we just didn't get it done."
The Bengals are now 0-2 on the season, and they will face the New York Jets next Sunday.
