UVA Football: UVA to Face WVU at Neutral Site in 2026 and 2032

UVA, WVU to Meet at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland in 2026, Pittsburgh in 2032

Virginia and West Virginia will renew their football rivalry at neutral sites in 2026 and 2032, the schools announced on Monday. The two schools will meet at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland on Sept. 12, 2026, and at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on Sept. 11, 2032. The 2026 game will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2005, when West Virginia won 28-23 in Morgantown.

The two schools have a long and storied history, dating back to 1951.

West Virginia leads the series 30-21-1, but Virginia has won the last two meetings, including a 20-14 victory in Charlottesville in 2003. The Mountaineers will be looking to avenge that loss when the two teams meet in 2026. The game will be a homecoming of sorts for West Virginia coach Neal Brown, who was born in Maryland and played quarterback at Maryland from 1992 to 1995.

The 2032 game will be the first meeting between the two schools in Pittsburgh since 1983, when West Virginia won 24-21. The Mountaineers have a 9-4 record against Virginia in Pittsburgh, but the Cavaliers won the last meeting in the Steel City, 24-13, in 1982.

The two games will be part of a four-game series between the two schools. The other two games will be played in Charlottesville and Morgantown, but the dates for those games have not yet been announced.
