UC Davis Men's Basketball Falls to Idaho Vandals
Aggies Drop Second Game in a Row, Fall to 12-15 Overall
The UC Davis Aggies men's basketball team dropped their second straight game on Saturday night, falling to the Idaho Vandals 78-62 at the Idaho Central Credit Union Arena. The Aggies, who entered the game with a record of 12-14 overall and 6-9 in the Big Sky Conference, were led by sophomore guard Ezra Manjon's 14 points. The Aggies shot just 39.6% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range.
Slow Start Dooms Aggies
The Aggies got off to a slow start, falling behind 10-0 in the first five minutes of the game. Idaho would extend their lead to as many as 15 points before the Aggies would finally cut it to single digits late in the first half. The Vandals led 40-32 at the half.
The Aggies were able to cut the deficit to five points early in the second half, but Idaho would quickly push their lead back to double digits. The Aggies would never get closer than seven points the rest of the way, as the Vandals pulled away for the win.
Looking Ahead
The Aggies will return to action on Thursday, March 2, when they host the Weber State Wildcats. The Wildcats are currently in first place in the Big Sky Conference with a record of 14-1. The Aggies will need to win their remaining three games in order to qualify for the Big Sky Conference Tournament.
