North Carolina Wins First Game Of The Season

UNC Bounces Back From Season Opening Loss

CHAPEL HILL – After dropping their season opener to Purdue, The University of North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Basketball team bounced back on Friday night to defeat Elon University 87-63 in the Dean E. Smith Center.

The Tar Heels were led by Armando Bacot, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Caleb Love added 19 points, while RJ Davis chipped in with 17. UNC shot 50.7% from the field, including 10-of-24 from three-point range.

Elon was led by Sean Halloran, who had 17 points. Torrence Watson added 14 points, while Drew Markell chipped in with 13. The Phoenix shot 41.3% from the field, including 7-of-23 from three-point range.

The Tar Heels improved to 1-1 on the season, while Elon dropped to 1-2. UNC will be back in action on Monday night when they host Gardner-Webb.
