The Pakistan cricket team defeated the Australian cricket team by 6 wickets in the 2nd One Day International (ODI) match played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday. Australia, who won the toss and elected to bat first, posted a total of 277 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

Pakistan’s bowling attack, led by Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan, did a commendable job throughout the innings. They bowled with good discipline and control, and they also picked up wickets at regular intervals. Nawaz finished with figures of 2 for 49 in his 10 overs, while Shadab took 2 for 42 in his 9 overs. Australia’s top scorer was Usman Khawaja, who scored 72 runs off 83 balls.

In reply, Pakistan’s batters chased down the target with relative ease. Their openers, Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman, put on a solid partnership of 96 runs for the first wicket. Imam-ul-Haq scored 65 runs off 79 balls, while Fakhar Zaman scored 48 runs off 52 balls. After the departure of the openers, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan ensured that there were no hiccups along the way.

Babar Azam scored an impressive 63 runs off 74 balls, while Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten on 55 runs off 63 balls. Pakistan reached the target with 8 balls to spare, and they now level the three-match ODI series at 1-1.

The third and final ODI between Pakistan and Australia will be played at the same venue on Friday.
