Italy and UK: Travel Strikes Planned for November in Europe
Italy's Transport Strike
Italy's main rail union has announced a 24-hour strike for November 28th, which will likely cause significant disruption to train services across the country.
The strike, called by the USB union, has been called in protest of the government's rail reform plans. It could affect both domestic and international trains, including high-speed services to France and Switzerland.
If you are traveling to Italy during this period, it is advisable to check with your train operator to confirm your travel plans and consider alternative transportation options.
UK Bus Strike
Unite, the UK's largest union, has announced a bus strike for November 23rd. The strike will affect around 100,000 bus workers in England and Wales.
The strike has been called over a dispute over pay. Unite says its members have been offered a pay increase of just 4%, which is well below the current rate of inflation.
If you are planning to travel by bus in the UK on November 23rd, it is advisable to check with your local bus operator to see if services will be affected.
Other Planned Strikes
In addition to the strikes in Italy and the UK, there are also planned strikes in other European countries in November.
In France, there is a planned strike by Air France pilots on November 17th and 18th. In Spain, there is a planned strike by cabin crew on November 25th and 26th.
If you are traveling to Europe in November, it is advisable to check with your airline or travel operator to see if your travel plans will be affected.
