India's Taj Owner Is Planning More Luxury Hotels
The Indian Hotels Company Limited, which owns the iconic Taj Mahal Palace, is planning to add more luxury hotels to its portfolio in the coming years.
The company, which is part of the Tata Group, currently operates over 200 hotels in India and around the world.
In an interview with Bloomberg, the company's managing director and chief executive officer, Puneet Chhatwal, said that the company is looking to add more luxury hotels in key markets such as Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.
Chhatwal said that the company is also looking to expand its international presence, particularly in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The company's plans come as India's tourism industry is booming. The country is expected to attract over 30 million foreign tourists in 2023, up from 27 million in 2022.
