Harvard 72-68 Indiana (Nov 7, 2024) Game Recap
Indiana Hoosiers vs. Harvard Crimson
Hoosiers See Unbeaten Season End at Home, 72-68
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Trailing by 10 points at halftime and playing without freshman All-American guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, the Indiana Hoosiers lost their first game of the season at home Tuesday night, falling to Harvard University, 72-68.
The Crimson, who had defeated Maine and Bucknell on the road before coming to Bloomington, did so again. They handed the Hoosiers their first home loss in Assembly Hall since Feb. 8, 2023, a loss to Purdue.
Harvard was led by senior Chris Ledlum, who had a game-high 26 points, including 18 in the second half. He also grabbed 10 rebounds to complete a double-double.
Indiana was led by senior forward Race Thompson, who finished with 24 points, but was just 6-of-14 from the field.
The Hoosiers (4-1) trailed 38-28 at halftime despite shooting 50 percent from the field. However, they could not stop the Crimson in the first half, who made 58.8 percent of their shots from the field and 62.5 percent from the 3-point line.
Indiana outscored Harvard in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit. The Crimson hit their free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
The Hoosiers will look to bounce back on the road at Xavier on Saturday.
