Charlotte FC to Host Two Matches at American Legion Memorial Stadium
Expansion Franchise Set to Play Preseason and Open Cup Fixtures in the Queen City
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte FC announced today that the Club will host two matches at American Legion Memorial Stadium this summer. The expansion franchise will play a preseason friendly against the New England Revolution on July 19th and a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match on July 26th.
The match against the Revolution will be the first time that Charlotte FC has played in front of fans in the Carolinas. The Open Cup match will be the Club's first competitive match in Charlotte.
Tickets for both matches will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 20th. Season Ticket Members will have access to a presale beginning on Wednesday, May 18th.
"We are excited to bring two matches to Charlotte this summer," said Charlotte FC President Joe LaBue. "This is a great opportunity for our fans to see the team up close and personal before the start of the regular season."
American Legion Memorial Stadium is a 10,000-seat soccer-specific stadium located in the heart of Charlotte. The stadium is the home of the Charlotte Independence of the USL Championship.
Charlotte FC will begin its inaugural MLS season in 2022. The Club will play its home matches at Bank of America Stadium.
