Canucks’ Forbort questionable for L.A. Kings matchup
Vancouver Canucks blue-liner Derek Forbort missed morning skate
Tocchet says Forbort is day-to-day with an injury
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Derek Forbort is questionable for Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings.
Forbort missed the morning skate due to an injury, head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters. Tocchet said Forbort is day-to-day and his status for the game will be a game-time decision.
If Forbort is unable to play, it will be a big loss for the Canucks. Forbort has been a key part of the Canucks’ penalty kill this season, and he is also a physical presence on the ice.
The Canucks are already without defenseman Tyler Myers, who is out with a lower-body injury. If Forbort is also unable to play, the Canucks will be forced to ice a very young and inexperienced defense corps against the Kings.
The Kings are coming off a 4-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Monday night. They are now 2-2-0 on the season.
The Canucks are 1-2-1 on the season. They are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.
The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. PT at Rogers Arena.
